Dr. Abul Sharah is the founder of International Village Clinic. Dr. Sharah received his undergraduate education in India, earned a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Tokyo, Japan, and a Ph.D. in engineering physics from Carleton University in Canada. Dr. Sharah immigrated to the United States in 1972, where he had a 27-year professional career in executive and management positions at companies including Honeywell, Inc., MTS Systems Corporation, and Tectonics Research. Dr. Sharah took an early retirement in 1999 to establish International Village Clinic. He now spends 6 months every year in the impoverished villages of rural India helping people who need primary health care.
