Abstract
This project provided healthcare education, livelihood support, and educational opportunities for women engaged in sex work and their children, helping improve health outcomes, reduce vulnerability, and create alternative pathways for sustainable livelihoods.
Detailed Description
The project focused on improving the well-being of women engaged in sex work and their children in Vasco by providing education in basic healthcare, disease prevention, and livelihood development. Special emphasis was placed on raising awareness about HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections through preventive health education, counseling, and community outreach.
In addition to health education, the initiative helped participants explore alternative income-generating opportunities through skill development and vocational training programs. These efforts aimed to reduce economic vulnerability and create pathways toward greater financial independence and social inclusion.
The project also supported the educational and developmental needs of children from these communities, helping them access better opportunities and break cycles of poverty and marginalization. By combining healthcare awareness, livelihood support, and education, the program worked to improve the quality of life and long-term prospects of participating families.
