Abstract
Orphan and destitute children of sex workers to grow under community development
This project improved healthcare access and health awareness in rural communities through a primary healthcare center, community education programs, and preventive health initiatives benefiting more than 600 families.
Detailed Description
This initiative strengthened rural healthcare services by supporting a Primary Healthcare Center in Bhambarde and conducting health awareness programs across several surrounding villages. Under the leadership of Dr. Bhujbal, the project reached more than 600 families through educational sessions focused on preventive healthcare, sanitation, nutrition, maternal and child health, safe drinking water, disease prevention, and first aid.
Community members received information on a wide range of health issues, including infectious diseases, tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted diseases, respiratory illnesses, and maternal healthcare. The project also addressed social issues such as gender equality and harmful superstitions that often prevented people from seeking proper medical treatment.
The initiative contributed to significant improvements in community health awareness and healthcare-seeking behavior. Villagers increasingly utilized the healthcare center for medical assistance, resulting in better health outcomes and reduced reliance on traditional practices for treating serious conditions. The recruitment of a female nurse further improved access to healthcare services for women, while nutrition education encouraged families to grow vegetables and adopt healthier lifestyles.
