Abstract

This project introduced high-efficiency cookstoves to rural households, reducing indoor air pollution, lowering fuel consumption, and improving the health and well-being of families.

Detailed Description

The project promoted the use of high-efficiency cookstoves as a clean and sustainable alternative to traditional cooking methods. Designed to reduce smoke emissions and fuel consumption, the improved cookstoves helped create healthier indoor environments while decreasing the amount of firewood required for daily cooking. By reducing exposure to harmful indoor air pollution, the initiative improved respiratory health, particularly for women and children who spend significant time near cooking areas. Lower fuel consumption also reduced household expenses, eased the burden of firewood collection, and contributed to environmental conservation by reducing pressure on local forest resources. Through the adoption of clean cooking technology, the project supported healthier families, improved energy efficiency, and promoted sustainable rural development.
