Planted 2,000 arecanut and coconut trees on four women's farmlands and 2,000 meals were distributed to 150 stranded migrant workers in Rajasthan

The SankalpTaru Foundation initiated a “One Tree One Meal” campaign in the wake of the COVID-19 lockdown in April 2020. For every tree planted by IDS, SankalpTaru donated one food kit to those in need. As a result, 2,000 arecanut and coconut trees were planted on four women’s farm lands in the Chikmagalur district in Karnataka, and 2,000 meals were distributed to 150 stranded migrant workers in Barmer, Rajasthan. Their campaign was not only lauded on the ground by members of the local community, but also recognized by the government and media for the proactive efforts taken by the SankalpTaru team.
