This project empowered self-help groups in 10 villages to raise awareness about the harmful effects of dowry practices and promote gender equality within their communities.

The project worked through self-help groups in 10 villages to educate communities about the social, economic, and legal consequences of the dowry system. Through awareness campaigns, group discussions, workshops, and community outreach activities, participants learned about the negative impact of dowry on women, families, and society. Self-help group members were trained to become community leaders and advocates, enabling them to spread awareness, encourage dialogue, and promote gender equality and women's rights. By fostering community participation and challenging harmful social norms, the project contributed to creating safer, more equitable communities while supporting the empowerment of women and girls.
