a) The recipient community:- Farmers, primarily marginal and involved in traditional farming, face a dire situation with an average family monthly income of Rs. 3,500. This financial strain often leads to depression followed by tragic outcomes, including suicides due to the inability to repay loans. The persistent scarcity of water due to persistent droughts further constrains farmers from diversifying into alternative crops. Consequently, the prevailing poverty & depression in these communities is exacerbated. "People are living there because they were not dead." b) The locality:- Districts of Marathwada region like Beed, Osmanabad, Latur, Parbhani, Aurangabad, Solapur etc. c) The size and scope of the project:- The project is ambitiously designed to encompass a diverse range of programs aimed at holistic agricultural development: 1. The initiative involves suggesting and supporting farmers in making informed choices regarding crop selection and altering cropping patterns to include more remunerative crops. Additionally, the project encourages the adoption of horticulture practices for sustainable and profitable farming. 2. A crucial aspect of the project is the sourcing of high-quality saplings, ensuring that farmers have access to superior planting materials. This emphasis on quality inputs is expected to translate into a better overall quality of produce. 3. To enhance the knowledge base of farmers, the project is dedicated to providing comprehensive training on farming processes and techniques. From pre-plantation to post-harvest stages, farmers will be equipped with better practices to maximize yields and improve overall efficiency. 4. The creation of a supportive ecosystem for farmers is a pivotal aspect of the project. This includes ongoing training, the incorporation of relevant technologies, the establishment of a call center, and 24x7 support provided by trained agriculturists. This multifaceted approach ensures that farmers have constant access to assistance and guidance. 5. Facilitating the sale of produce is another significant component, wherein the project aims to connect farmers directly to buyers. This strategic intervention is designed to empower farmers to secure the best possible prices for their produce, fostering a more economically viable and sustainable agricultural model. In essence, the project's size and scope are expansive, addressing critical facets of agricultural development, from crop choice to post-harvest processes, with a strong emphasis on technology, knowledge enhancement, and market connectivity for the benefit of the farming community. d) The goals of the project:- 1) To increase the farmers income by atleast four times. 2) Get maximum farmers out of poverty trap 3) Work on soil, water & farming sustainable practices 4) Teach appropriate technology & systems to empower farmers 5) Create a proof of concept to replicate & scale up across the nation

This financial strain often leads to tragic outcomes, including suicides due to the inability to repay loans. The persistent scarcity of water further constrains farmers from diversifying into alternative crops. Consequently, the prevailing poverty in these communities is exacerbated, Community needs:- A better income to lead a better life. Addressing the plight of these farmers requires a holistic approach, incorporating measures to alleviate financial burdens, enhance water accessibility, and promote diversification in agricultural practices. By doing so, we can strive to break the chains of poverty and foster a more sustainable and resilient future for our farming communities 2. Provide us with some information on the locality. Ans. a) The locality:- Districts of Marathwada region like Beed, Osmanabad, Latur, Parbhani, Aurangabad, Solapur etc. These are some of the most backward districts in the country & NITI Aayog has selected Osmanabad as an aspirational district. 3. Very few NGO's are operating in this area 4. Are you pursuing partnerships with any NGOs or other organizations in order to have a deeper and more sustainable impact? Ans. No 5. What is the scope and size of the project? Specify the number of people, the community or population range, and the types of services your project will offer. Ans. The project organization has been actively engaged in several programs that align with the proposed project. These major programs include: Farmer Training and Capacity Building, Focus on sustainable agricultural practices and improved farming techniques, Emphasis on efficient water and resource management, Post-harvest management training for enhanced productivity, Market Linkages and Value Chain Development, Facilitating collaborations with buyers, processors, and retailers, Natural Resource Management, Promotion of sustainable practices, including soil conservation and water management, Provision of Vermicompost beds and Go Krupa Amuratam(Bacterial Culture) for enhanced land productivity and demonstrated expertise and commitment.Considering 80,000 Plantations an average 80 + farmer families will be benefitted. (depending on the crop) 6. What are the goals of the project? Describe the difference your project will make to the community or population served. 1) Eradicate Poverty Among Farmers: Targeted interventions and support systems to improve economic conditions to annualy earn over Rs.1 lakh per acre 2) Promote Sustainable Practices in Soil, Water, and Farming: Focus on soil conservation, efficient water management, and the adoption of eco-friendly farming methods to promote long-term resilience and resource conservation. 3) Empower Farmers Through Technology and Systems: Provide training on appropriate agricultural technology, modern farming systems, and efficient practices to equip farmers with the skills needed to thrive in a dynamic agricultural landscape. 4) Develop a Scalable Proof of Concept: Create a comprehensive proof of concept that showcases the effectiveness of the proposed interventions. This includes documenting successful case studies, implementing scalable strategies, and identifying key factors for widespread implemtation
