Detailed Description
With support from IDS, the Kasare Village Development Project focused on transforming a rural community in Maharashtra through a participatory and sustainable development approach. Inspired by the successful Ralegan Siddhi model, the initiative encouraged villagers to work together in addressing local challenges and improving their quality of life.
The project implemented community-driven activities aimed at strengthening natural resource management, improving agricultural practices, conserving water, and enhancing village infrastructure. By promoting local leadership, collective action, and sustainable development, the initiative empowered residents to actively participate in building a more resilient and self-reliant community.
Through grassroots participation and long-term planning, the project contributed to improved livelihoods, environmental conservation, and the overall social and economic development of the village.
