Abstract
This project strengthened the livelihoods of village potters by providing specialized pottery training, product development support, and marketing skills to help them increase income and access new markets.
Detailed Description
The project focused on enhancing the skills and economic opportunities of traditional village potters through targeted training in pottery production, design improvement, and product quality enhancement. Participants learned advanced pottery techniques while building on their existing craftsmanship to create products that appeal to wider markets.
In addition to technical training, the project provided guidance on marketing, pricing, packaging, customer engagement, and business development. These skills enabled artisans to better promote and sell their products, expand their customer base, and generate higher and more sustainable incomes.
By preserving traditional pottery practices while introducing modern business and marketing strategies, the initiative helped strengthen rural livelihoods, support local entrepreneurship, and promote the long-term sustainability of artisan communities.
