Abstract

This project used the power of football to promote education, life skills, and leadership among children and youth from underprivileged communities, helping them build confidence and create brighter futures.

Detailed Description

With support from IDS, OSCAR Foundation leveraged football as a powerful tool for education, personal development, and social change among children and youth from underprivileged communities. The program combined sports with life-skills education to help participants develop confidence, teamwork, leadership, communication, discipline, and resilience. The initiative also emphasized academic support and educational attainment, ensuring that children remained engaged in school while building essential life skills. Through a network of trained young leaders and mentors, participants received guidance, encouragement, and opportunities to become positive role models within their communities. By integrating sports with education and leadership development, the project empowered children and youth to overcome social and economic barriers, improve their future opportunities, and become active contributors to their communities.
