Abstract
A holistic rural development initiative in Madhya Pradesh that strengthens livelihoods, governance, education, and healthcare through community-led action in 10 villages.
Detailed Description
As part of its 50th Anniversary, India Development Society (IDS) initiated a shift from sector-specific interventions to a more holistic, village-level development approach. In partnership with Samavesh, IDS launched a comprehensive socio-economic development program in 10 villages of Khategaon block in Dewas district, Madhya Pradesh.
The program focuses on uplifting marginalized communities through integrated and community-driven initiatives. It emphasizes key areas such as livelihood development, local governance, education, healthcare, and community engagement, ensuring that development is inclusive and sustainable.
By working closely with local leadership and grassroots organizations, the initiative encourages active participation from community members, fostering ownership and long-term impact. The program aims to empower both women and men by enhancing economic opportunities, strengthening local governance systems, and improving access to essential services like education and healthcare.
Through this holistic approach, the initiative seeks to create resilient rural communities capable of driving their own development, ensuring sustained socio-economic progress from the ground up.
