Using mobile technologies to educate farmers on ZBNF practices

Shramik Bharti works with urban and rural communities in Uttar Pradesh and Punjab to eradicate poverty and empower women in disadvantaged communities. IDS funded a project aimed at alleviating a farming crisis in Uttar Pradesh, as farmers faced increased input costs making farming economically unviable for the farmers. At the same time, overused pesticides and chemicals are contaminating soil, polluting and shrinking water resources, and are killing biodiversity. The goal of the project was to provide round-the-clock advice to farmers about natural farming methods through the use of an interactive voice response (IVR)
