Abstract

A youth skill development and employment initiative that equips underprivileged youth with vocational training, life skills, and job opportunities, enabling them to build confident and sustainable futures.

Detailed Description

Unnati is a youth empowerment initiative focused on transforming the lives of unemployed and underprivileged youth through structured vocational training and holistic development. Guided by its philosophy—“Learn, Earn, Stand Tall”—the program equips young individuals with the skills, confidence, and opportunities needed to build sustainable livelihoods. The initiative delivers an intensive 35-day full-time training program that combines vocational skills with life skills, communication, presentation abilities, and basic technological awareness. This comprehensive approach ensures that participants are not only job-ready but also confident, self-reliant individuals capable of navigating real-world challenges. With support from India Development Society (IDS), the program has directly benefited 50 youth, significantly improving their self-esteem, communication skills, and overall outlook toward life. The training helps participants transition into the workforce with greater confidence and determination, enabling them to become active contributors to society. A key strength of the program lies in its strong industry linkages, which ensure employment opportunities for trainees upon completion. Many participants are placed in jobs with access to social security benefits such as ESI and PF, allowing them to support their families and move toward financial stability. The impact of the program is reflected in stories like that of Anu, a graduate who secured a position at HDFC Bank after completing her training at Unnati. Through interactive learning methods, group discussions, and life skills sessions, she developed strong communication and public speaking abilities. The program not only enhanced her professional capabilities but also helped her grow personally by improving her confidence, time management, and decision-making skills. Through its integrated approach to skill-building and employment, Unnati empowers youth to overcome socio-economic challenges, achieve financial independence, and lead dignified, self-sufficient lives.
