Abstract

This project supported the socio-economic development of tribal communities in Bihar through community-based initiatives that strengthened livelihoods, promoted self-reliance, and improved overall quality of life.

Detailed Description

With continued support from IDS, Vikas Bharati implemented a tribal development program in rural Bihar to improve the socio-economic conditions of marginalized tribal communities. The project adopted a community-based approach, focusing on sustainable livelihood development, local participation, and long-term rural empowerment. The initiative worked closely with tribal families to strengthen self-reliance through locally driven development activities that addressed the unique needs of the community. By supporting grassroots interventions and building local capacity, the project promoted sustainable development while improving livelihood opportunities and community well-being. IDS's continued funding ensured the growth and continuity of the program, enabling Vikas Bharati to expand its impact and strengthen its long-term commitment to the empowerment and development of tribal populations in Bihar.
