Abstract

This project empowered youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities by building awareness, enhancing employability skills, and creating pathways to meaningful employment and community inclusion.

Detailed Description

With support from IDS, Yash Charitable Foundation implemented a program to improve employment opportunities and social inclusion for youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including autism and Down syndrome. The project focused on building awareness, developing vocational and life skills, and preparing participants for meaningful employment while promoting dignity, independence, and self-confidence. The initiative also worked with families, employers, and communities to increase awareness and encourage inclusive workplaces where individuals with disabilities could contribute their talents and abilities. By strengthening employability and expanding access to livelihood opportunities, the project helped participants lead more independent lives while fostering greater acceptance and inclusion within society.
