Working with stone miners in Rajasthan, Gravis pivoted their programming in the early stages of the lockdown to meet the immediate needs of the community. With IDS’ support, Gravis distributed food and hygiene kits to support 320 mineworkers and their families (approximately 2,000 people) living in the outskirts of Jodhpur. As the effects of the pandemic linger, Gravis continues to work closely with local nurses and health care practitioners to educate the community about COVID-19 and necessary safety and hygiene measures.
