Early detection of breast cancer (iBreast)

Categories: Healthcare

Year(s): 2019

Location: Maharashtra

This project aims to provide early detection of breast cancer for women through the use of the iBreastExam device. The iBreast Exam is a cost-effective, handheld scanner created for low-resource environments. The exam takes less than 10 minutes and requires minimal training. It helps spot lumps or lesions in the breasts that may not be visible. Over 500 women in the age group of 40-60 years old have been screened for breast cancer using iBreast. Now more women are requesting to get screened as a result of this project.
