RangDe develops strategic partnerships with organizations throughout 14 states in India to support small and marginalized farmers. When lockdowns and travel bans began, many farmers lost income as they were not able to travel to sell their harvests. With the support of IDS, RangDe provided interest-free loans to 5,867 small farmers to help them rebuild their livelihood, ensuring they had cash flows to meet the costs of starting a new sowing season. They also provided employment to three interns, working to expedite the processing of the loan applications and building strong partnerships with other organizations to support farmers with access to credit.
