IDS support helped the Himalayan Education Foundation (HEF) with a solar installation project in a school operating in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. The solar installation provides uninterrupted lighting to the classrooms, library, dormitories, dining hall, offices, and teachers’ quarters.   The lighting system remediated an erratic power supply problem and directly contributes to the livelihood of the community and its utilization of solar resources. More than 700 hundred students and staff members benefit from this initiative.
