IDS is currently running a hostel orphanage in Vizianagaram District, Andhra Pradesh. The primary objective is to provide tribal children in rural hamlets access to high quality education (see https://idsusa.orgcurrent-projects/education/tribal-education/).
Eighteen of our 8th and 9th level hostel students were selected to be part of the National Green Core (https://envfor.nic.in/division/national-green-corps-ngc) that includes participating in a field trip which introduces the students to a diversity of eco-systems.
Being one with nature, learning scientific methodology, and gaining a diverse skill set will make our students better citizens for India. We are proud of our students and know that one day they will make a difference.
